Thanks to all of you for your awesomeness! We are sooo looking forward to seeing you in 5 weeks. I wanted to send out another update just to review some details regarding Granny's Birthday Celebration. Some frequently asked questions are:

How do I go about paying for my family's dinner?
The easiest way is to do it through Paypal. Click on the previous link for instructions. You can also mail your check directly to my mom, Cynthia Clark at 105 Lexington Drive, LaVergne, TN 37086. All checks should be made payable to her.

How much is the dinner?
The cost is $22 per adult and $10 per child, age 8 to 14. Kids under 8 are free.

What is the deadline to pay for my dinner?
The deadline to receive payments for the dinner is Saturday, July 17th. We have to give the caterer a final headcount, so PLEASE be mindful of the deadline. If your reservation has not been made directly to Cynthia or your payment received by her, there will NOT be food available for you.

What is the attire for the dinner?
The attire will be white tops with blue jean bottoms. A photographer will be on site to take pictures, so come photo ready.

I would like to include some of my family's photos in the electronic photo album. How do I go about emailing them?
If you have photos that you would like to include, please email them to elisadenise@hotmail.com.

Hotel Details

One of the best things about Nashville is that you can drive 15 to 20 minutes and partake is some of the cities best features.  Smyrna, TN is located about 20 minutes outside of Nashville and is proud to be one of the fastest growing areas in the Metro City.  With plenty of shopping, retaurants, bowling, golf, skating and hotels all within a 10 mile strip, Smyrna is the logical location for lodging.  Not to mention the location for the dinner is only a 15 minute drive.

Group rates have been established at Sleep Inn in Smyrna, TN at $85 per night.  When reserving your room, please request the group rates for "Maggie Leftridge 88th Birthday".   There are only 10 rooms at this special group rate and they will be first come first serve.  The Sleep Inn contact information is below.

There are several other hotels on the same street and all convenient to everything.  I went to some of the discount hotel websites and provided an average price.  Feel free to use any of those sites such as Travelocity or Priceline.  PLEASE NOTE:  If you do a hotel search on a discount site, you MUST search by address.  If not, you will get hotels located in Nashville, which is 20 minutes away.

Electronic Family Album

Do you have family photos that you want to share with other family members? Have you seen photos that other family members have and you wish you had a copy? Well now is your chance. Our wish is to put together a family photo slide show for Granny's bday dinner. In addition to that, we would like to have photo CDs available for each family to take with them. If you have photos that you would like to include, please email them to elisadenise@hotmail.com. The deadline for submission is July 1, 2010.

Pay for your dinner quick and easy

For your convenience, a PayPal account has been set up to enable you to pay for your family's dinner in advance, or a little at a time.  Paypal is a SECURE website used to send money to anyone in the US for FREE.  Just follow these quick and easy steps:

Go to http://www.paypal.com/
If you don't already have a PayPal account, please set one up. No worries....ITS FREE!!!

To set up an account, click on the "Sign Up" button at the very top of the page.
Click on "Get Started" under "Personal"

PLEASE NOTE:  When establishing a Paypal account, it is cheaper to set it up through your bank account instead of a debit or credit card.  There is a small fee (like $2 or $3) if you want to use a card.

Click on the tab "Send Money"
Type in my email address elisadenise@hotmail.com
Enter the dollar amount you are sending, based on the number of adults/children you are paying for.
(Remember $22 for adults, $10 for children age 8-14. Kids under 8 are free.)

Click on the tab "Personal"
Click on "Payment Owed"
Click "Continue"
Please review your payment for accuracy.
This is where you will notice the fee if you used a debit or credit card.
Before clicking "Send Money", please scroll down and enter your name in the "Subject" line and a small note below to let me know who you are paying for.

Dinner Details

Plans are under way for Granny's Birthday Celebration.  Everyone is excited to get together this summer.  Mom and I have been getting a lot of calls about local hotels, dinner attire and cost of attending.  I figured we should send out another email to provide more information.  Also to the right of the page http://www.maggiebellsbday.blogspot.com/ , you will find a list of website links that give you a taste of what Music City USA has to offer.

As for the meal, from 2pm - 5pm, we will partake in a catered buffet-style dinner at the LaVergne Civic Auditorium in LaVergne, TN (about 15 minutes outside of Nashville).  The laid back menu has been designed to please your palette as well as give you a taste of Tennessee southern cuisine.  The cost is $22 per adult and $10 per child, age 8 to 14.  Kids under 8 are free.  There will be a PayPal account set up so you can easily forward your payment directly to the dinner account.

The Date is Set

Welcome Family! We are so excited to plan this special event for someone who is near and dear to our hearts. Deuteronomy 5:16 (NIV) says "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you." Well its official! We will HONOR Maggie Leftridge in beautiful Nashville, TN on Saturday, July 31, 2010 in celebration of her 88th Birthday.
